To combat this phenomenon, police have engaged several units. One of them is an anti-drug unit.
According to police, the most frequent narcotics substance in schools is marijuana. For a year and a few months, a total of 47,21 grams of marijuana and 69.1 grams in school courtyards have been found within school facilities.
Toward the end of 2017 until 31 January this year, police have opened 226 drug use cases in capital and around schools.
According to police statistics, during this period, 275 suspected persons were arrested, 50 students and 225 others.
Of the 275 arrested, 46 people have been distributors, while 229 drug users.
Police officials appreciate this situation as disturbing, for they say it tends to increase these cases.
Shares are done against suspected objects and cars around schools.
Fetah Zejnullahu, high school director “Sami Frasher”, one of the largest high schools in Pristina, says they have tightened security measures against drug use.
Situate is also viewed as disturbing at the “rehabilitation center Labyrinth” It requires everyone's commitment to drafting preventative programs.
By “Labyrinth”, in 2007, the average age of people who started using drugs was 21.4 years old, while by last year it dropped to 16.2.
