Following the law's entry into force for the public sector, the Ombudsman's institution has sent it to the Constitutional Court for assessing the compliance of this Law with the Constitution, and for that, the United Education Union, Science Federation of Kosovo Health Unions, the Police and Education Union, which have “threatened” with strikes and protests if the law is not implemented.
In this regard, the Steering Council of the United Education, Science and Culture Union of Kosovo ( The SBASK today holds an appointment to discuss union actions if salaries do not deal with growth under the new Law of Salaries.
We remember that Behemman Jashari, chairman of this Union, made it known days ago that non-compliance under the New Law would create dissatisfaction and trouble in the country.
“We showed the ombudsman that the Law for Salaries must be implemented. A great deal of effort has been made by these unions. We reminded him of the strike that we did for that very purpose. We told him that no salary taking under the Law for the Salat would create great trouble and frustration in these three most important sectors for Kosovo and appealed to him to be careful of his commitments so that the law could start implementing”, Jashar had declared.
Even the Kosovo Health Federation (FSSHK), as well as the Kosovo Police Union (SPK), have warned strikes and protests in the event wages do not rise during December.
