“The messages from Belgrade that we should have a compromise without recognition of the Republic of Kosovo are provocations. Kosovo independence is a compromise. Dialogue is possible based on one principle: The two states should recognise each other as equal neighbours, moving towards integration into the Euro-Atlantic family”, Thaci wrote on twitter.
Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, during the visit to Greece, has given an interview to the renowned Greek newspaper “Kathyni”, where he has talked about the question of finding a final solution with Kosovo and also of the highly discussed idea of correcting borders and exchange of territories.
Vucic has said he is willing to negotiate for finding a compromise solution, but according to him, recognising Kosovo cannot happen.
Asked about the idea of correcting borders as a possible solution to the Kosovo stalemate, Vucic has also answered a question.
The “Ciles borders will be discussed, the one known by China, Russia, Greece and Spain, or those recognised by France and Germany”, Vucic has said.
For the idea of exchanging territories, Vucic has declared that Serbia has always been seeking a compromise and that he does not want to impose a solution that would be in the interest of only one side.
“We are ready and open to negotiate a compromise solution”, Vuciq has posted.
Some have talked about different models, but they haven't offered us anything specific. If someone thinks someone will come to Belgrade and ask us to recognise Kosovo as an independent state, this will not happen”, the head of the Serbian state has added.
Among other things, Vucic has said the only requirement for a return to the dialogue is to lift the 100 %s tax.
You will not hear from me any other request except what we want the 100% tax removed. We want to sit at the table to discuss and try to find a solution”, Vucic stated for “Kathmerini”.
