The latest Gallup International Association study, which has provided Telegrafi, shows that this year, the level of optimism in Kosovo has marked a slight rise compared to the past three years. The latest Gallup International Association study around the globe, which includes Kosovo and Albania through Cantar Index Kosova and Be Research, member of this association, points out that 37% of the world's population remain optimistic that next year will be better than the one we are leaving behind.

For decades now, the Gallup International Association's research continues to record the paradox that people living in richer countries tend to be more pessimistic about next year and the opposite, said Gallup International research.

The global index of hope and despair are strongly influenced by the age and level of schooling young people (by the age of 34), and those with higher levels of schooling are noticeably more optimistic. Religious integrity, however, does not seem to be a crucial factor except that Hindu people are more optimistic by nature.

Kosovo in the most difficult economic and political periods, for several consecutive years was the most optimistic state in the world, where 90% of the population considered the next year to be better than the previous year, while today only 56% of the population agree with this statement.

In fact, this year, the level of optimism in Kosovo has marked a slight rise compared to the past three years, which may be the result of recent changes in political scheme as a result of recent elections, and yet, the overall index of happiness in Kosovo this year remains almost the same (62) compared to 2017 (61.

On the other hand, the level trend of optimism in Albania, even though there was a steady rise from 2016 to years, this year remains in its earlier position.

The happiness index in Albania has marked an apparent decline (37) of 10 units compared to the index Albania had in 2017, a result influenced by the turmoil caused by earthquakes the past two months, as well as by the recent general political situation.

Yet, citizens of Albania remain in the group of the world's most optimistic states (70%), along with Nigeria (73%), Peru (70%), Kazakhstan (67%) and Armenia (62%).

As for pessimism, the next was Libya (76%), Hong Kong (6.8%), Jordan (60%) and Italy (59%).
