Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo Petrit Selimi has warned that the new chief of European diplomacy, Josep Borelli, will appoint the Slovak top diplomat, Mirsolav Lajcak, to the position of the European Union's Special Representative for Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue.
Selimi has made this known through a post on his Twitter account, writes news.net.
He has indicated he has learned from three different diplomatic sources close to Joseph Borell that he will be exactly Miroslav Lajcak, the Special Envoy for Kosovo Dialogue Serbia.
I have heard from three different sources that Josep Borell is seriously considering the appointment of Miroslav Lajcak as emissar for dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia. Minister Lajcak is pleased, but I don't think a special envoy should come from a non-recognitionary state”, Selimi wrote on his Twitter account.

That the EU should appoint a special representative for the Pristina-Belgrade dialogue, CDU deputy Peter Beyer, had also said during his recent visit to Kosovo from the LDK headquarters.
With Mr. Palmer, we have continued contact. We met several times in Washington, even in Pristina. Palmer knows the region, and it is really new news that he has been appointed as a special representative for the region. But I don't know what good that appointment will do us. But independence I think the European Union should also appoint a special representative in terms of the Serbia-Kosovo dialogue, which with a special team would contribute sincerely and constructively to continue the dialogue”, Beyer had said at the media conference.
So far, appointed Special for Kosovo Dialogue Serbia has only sent the United States of America. Matthew Palmer has been appointed by the State Department on the other hand, President Donald Trump has elected Ambassador Richard Green to the position of emissary for Kosovo dialogue Serbia.
In Serbian and foreign media in recent days it has been reported that France also intends to send an emissary of it for dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
