Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq has said today that Serbia wants to open new chapters in the accession talks, stressing that the key issue is reaching agreement with Kosovo.
Vuciq has declared that he wants a clearer explanation of what European Union countries see as the future of the Western Balkans.
He has stressed that there were good discussions with European Parliament officials on important topics, starting from Kosovo and the economic situation in Serbia, broadcasts news.net.
“A compromise solution with Kosovo is something we have many problems with and we don't know how things will go in the future, but we are always ready to explore”, the Serbian president has declared.
Tuje, he has said Serbia has done its job but no longer depends on them, and that the EU is making a political assessment to decide how many chapters and how fast negotiations will open.
Vuciq has added that Serbia will not go towards Russia, even though they are proud to have good relations with this country, but are now on their way to the European Union.
It is noteworthy that Kosovo-Serbia negotiations have been blocked a year ago since the establishment of tax on Serbian products, while Serbian officials have declared they will return to the negotiating table if this agreement is abolished.
