Facebook-led digital currency plans, which will be issued and managed by the Geneva-based Books Association, have raised concerns among regulators and politicians, ranging from privacy issues and to its potential to influence monetary policy and change the financial situation in the world.
Officials running the project, including top Facebook manager David Marcus, have said regulatory barriers could delay the release of the currency, scheduled for June 2020.
