They call for the rapid formation of the new government and institutions to continue with reforms in economic development, implementation of the EU-Kosovo Stabilisation and Association Agreement and dialogue with Serbia.
“A rapid formation of the government is needed to advance these processes, in the interest of Kosovo and its people, and in accordance with the Constitution and the expressed desire of electorate”, the EU statement said.
The Convention's binding session is scheduled to be held on December 26th. The October 6th general elections gave the people of Kosovo the opportunity to exercise its democratic right to vote and elect its leaders. That is the essence of the democratic process. We believe that the parties in question will reach the consensus needed to overcome the remaining difficulties”, the statement noted.
The EU stresses that Kosovo urgently needs to continue working on reforms for economic and social development, as well as rule of law, implementation of the EU-Kosovo Stabilisation and Association Agreement and dialogue with Belgrade, which facilitates the EU. /Periscopi/
