On the other hand, the LDK continues at its request that the Vetevendosje Movement join the presidential post, even demanding pledges.
Vetevendosje Movement Chairman Albin Kurti has said the meeting will not take place today, but warned frequent meetings until the agreement is reached. He said there are still no concrete results in terms of signing the ruling coalition with the LDK.
I cannot have new news without concrete results as regards the topic of talks with LDK. I've told you this before. I'll do it again. Today, there will be no meeting and continuing and intense communication until we reach the agreement we both wish... When we have concrete results, I give new news has no concrete results”, Kurti said.
Asked that calling the constitutional session by Kosovo President Hashim Thaci is putting pressure on the coalition's arrival, Kurti said the president has offered them more time than needed.
According to him at last night's meeting with LDK leader Isa Mustafa, they have agreed to continue their next meetings to reach the final agreement on forming the country's new government.
Kosovo's “president has pushed to the maximum date when the constitutional meeting for the seventh legislature will be held, because the last date has been 26 October. I hope he gave us more time than we need. And we're doing what we're doing here, but I'm pointing out that in terms of concrete results you're going to have them... We've agreed to move quickly towards the deal because the people have decided that. There is not here the issue of mutual elders what is a must that has imposed on us October 6th”, he said.
Vetevendosje's leader has reiterated that the 6 October election winner sees no partner in the ruling coalition except the LDK.
Optimist that the coalition will happen soon has also been expressed by Haxhi Avdyli of the Democratic League of Kosovo, which said the agreement would be reached without passing constitutional deadlines.
Avdyli said one of the issues left unsolved is that of the president, for which at this point Vetevendosje requires a pledge for future co-operation.
“The LDK is interested in this mandate being 4 years old, and in the framework of the government's four-year term to be established are the president's position. We don't want to go into government, which will last until the spring of 2021 and then we as parties go separate before this challenge. LDK for president's work is demanding a pledge, which is only pledge for future co-operation The LDK-Determination, it's not like we're safe or we have the opportunity to just elect the president. We want this pledge to be decided and at the same time continue with future points like the government... More important is the commitment not only by paper but also by word of mouth but also by trust”, Avdyli said.
The former LDK delegation has insisted that the post of president be an issue to be discussed if the Vetevendosje Movement wants to have partnership with the LDK.
The president's “Post is not the post coming from the envelope. This post should be part of the discussion whether we should have a partnership, if we want the president's post to be an excuse to destroy the government or to bring it down in the spring of 2021. That's OK, but we're not interested in the future government ending in 2021, but we're interested in this government to succeed. Whoever else believes we don't have everything is loose and small issues and issues that can be solved along the 14x1>, he said.
Haxhi Avdyli said the LDK is always ready for elections, but are not interested in moving the country to the polls, as the country is thus blocked.
President Hashim Thaci has called the constitutional session of the 7th Parliament legislature on December 24th at 9:00.
Vetevendosje Movement leader Albin Kurti had promised that the deal would be reached 72 hours after the confirmation of the 6 October election outcome, which was certified on 27 November.
