Police spokesman John Elder did not reveal the ages of two men killed, but said they “were not teenagers”. Apparently they were playing in the snow “when the suspect arrived at the scene and shot them both” at 10:00 a.m. local time, before entering a house at 2600 Avenue Oakland south of Minneapolis, the main city of the State of Minnesota, transmits Telegrafi.
Authorities believe that “could be a hostage takeover”, according to the AP agency.
The houses in question were surrounded by police, assisted by a team of SWAT special forces and a team of negotiators. Meanwhile, some neighbours were evacuated from their homes pending a possible confrontation.
