British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said that “has mistaken” for Russia and that he no longer believes it is possible to recreate relations with Moscow, while states have many differences in attitudes.
“What I really changed my mind about was whether to recreate relations with Russia. I have really thought, as well as many foreign secretaries and prime ministers in the past, that we can start over with Russia. He's a great country we fought fascism with. It's very disappointing that I was wrong”, Johnson told the British Spectator magazine.
These comments come after Johnson said on December 21st, during a visit to Estonia, he hopes relations with Russia will improve, though the two states have terrible “problems that divide them.
Johnson has made these statements in an interview in Estonia while visiting 850 British soldiers serving in the Baltic State to fight what the West sees as Russia's aggression, following Ukraine's annexation of Crime and the support of separatists to the east.
This conflict has left more than 13,000 people killed in 2014.
