Shefki Keka, he's Karacheva's oldest resident.
He for Kp says this side has never been more endangered than it is now. The 87-year-old expresses concern about how these illegal businesses put residents in danger.
<x) KFOR, or anyone with a long shot... so there's murder... Get these casinos away from here, they've never been, and they shouldn't be”, he says.
While many residents of the village say that the presence of such establishments is disturbing, they do not even want to speak before the camera, for fear they may have consequences.
The village manager, Armend Kastrati, says operating these businesses is a major concern, adding that they have also talked to Kamenica Mayor.
The most recent possible procedure is that I, as the village administrator, have information that the road that shares the border with the Breznica route, you have seen KFOR signs that define those border areas even when it starts and ends up as a border zone, there are rumours that the municipality is looking at another alternative, to open up another road and that road to close, you have seen that the casinos are operating in that part, and that for us residents is a very big concern of” says Kastra.
Kamenica municipality head Central Kastrati in a written response to Kosova Prees, says Kosovo police cannot intervene in this part without KFOR being granted permission.
The Karacheva issue is a little complex because when the Kumanovo Agreement was signed in 1999, a mistake has been made because the line has been exceeded and entered within Kosovo's territory, specifically in the Kadastral Zone of the Kamenica municipality. Even Kosovo police can't intervene in that section without receiving special permission from KFOR-I”, Kastrati says.
In addition, he stresses that the issues belonging to those like the municipality have sought assistance from Kosovo Police, and have also raised concerns with KFOR.
Kosovoress has tried to get an answer even media offices within KFOR for the same haven't answered our questions.
