According to the latest data, the company will even replace half of the 200,000 workers over the next five years.
The main reason for staff reinforcement lies in the fact that many current employees will be retired very quickly, and salaries in this sector range from 34,000 to 52,000 euros annually, depending on the position and experience of workers.
Martin Seiler, responsible for human resources on German railways, says that by the end of 2019, the company should employ more 24,000 new workers.
The administration expects the same number of arrivals next year.
At the same time, due to an ambitious climate change package, the German federal government plans to increase railway investments and 8,000 jobs will be created in the sector.
Currently, German railways are in search of train machines, as well as service and IT staff, construction and electrical engineers.
Next generation of trains must be “more precise and stronger” to prevent delays and unwanted annulments.
In this sector, the average salary depends on the type of work. The company currently employs 500 different professions, including cooks, office employees, engineers and IT professionals.
