Albania's Minister of Task for Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj is in Geneva, where he is participating in the work of the Global Forum for Refugees.
In his address, Minister of Task Cakaj underlined that Albania remains committed to full implementation of its obligations under the Global Committee for Refugees.
He also stressed that in close co-operation with U NHCR, the EU and other international partners, Albania will work on improving the system for asylum management and expanding refugee integration capacities.
Very important to remember Albania's unprecedented historical contribution to accepting refugees from the Kosovo war caused by projects for ethnic cleansing and genocide by the Milosevic regime!”, said Minister Cakaj.
Likewise, chief diplomat Cakaj added that this historical experience is not only an example of national solidarity, but also presents a global model in Albania's relationship with refugees in one of the most difficult hours of history.
