EU institutions are finally trying to establish the bloc's long-term budget, also known as multi-year-old financial structure [ MFF. The U.K. removal will leave a huge hole in the budget, writes The Guardian, following Periscope.
Senior EU officials have described negotiations on the commission's proposal as the most difficult ever.
The current budget ending in 2020 is 3.8 billion, which is offered to poor countries for basic foods.
Under the proposed budget 2021-2027, the budget will be 2 billion. The Commission has added that it hopes member states will accommodate more than that, but has not established any obligation to the issue. /Periscope
