Today, 19 years are filled by the death of Yasar Salih, the first diplomatic representative of the Kosovo Interim Government in Switzerland, and at the same time former head of the Fund's Council for Management “Vendrestrells”.
Since the 70th years, Jashar Salihu was a member of the National Liberation Movement of Kosovo and Albanian parts of the former Yugoslavia, respectively, among the most active members of the then illegal groups operating within the illegal organisation called the Committee for Decani, under the movement led by the idealologist, the most prominent event of the national issue, Yusuf Gervalla. Along with his brother, Hajdari, they were noted for their political courage that openly opposed the attitudes and actions led by the former communist centres organized through municipal committees, which conflicted with the goals and ideals of the genuine national movement for release from the Slav invasion.
Years later, the Salih brothers worked as high school professors “Brothers Frasher” high school in Decan. On May 1, 1990, he will lead the rally to Luqa Wines, where more than 500,000 attended by all Albanian trains, where 106 reconciliations would be reached: 62 cases, 25 wounds and 19 confusions. At the end of that year, he is arrested and severely tortured, barbarous. But nothing ends with that. His pursuit will go on, at every step, even to force him to take the way of exile. His political activity, within the framework of the former Kosovo People's Movement, will only mark raises and take on new, multi-comparable dimensions.
Being in advance in its highest governing hierarchy, at its initiative in 1993 will form the “Birthday Fund calls for”, which has been in the function of forming the self-finance of the Kosovo Liberation Army's liberation war. Since this year, by the time of its establishment, Yasar Salihu has been chairman of the Council for Management of the Fund “
In senbilising Western opinion with the truth about Kosovo's fair fight against Slobodan Milosevic's criminal forces, Jashar's role is irreplaceable, and, therefore, proved not by chance to be under the KLA Political Directorate.
He was a member of the Foreign Relations Group, while later being the first diplomatic representative of the Kosovo Interim Government in Switzerland.” Kosovo Albanians are Europeans and do not have ties to Islamic countries. They are determined to fight until the end of”, declared Yasar Salihu to the American newspaper “The Christian Science Monitor”, dated April 16, 1998, thus defending and spreading the truth for Albanians and Western civilising values of the KLA war, simultaneously exposing antiAlbanian propaganda of Milosevic's criminal regime and its satellites. Yasar Salihu was born in the village of Batusha on February 10, 1953. The primary school was conducted in the village of Molic, while the middle one in Gjakova.
He finished the faculty in Pristina at the Faculty of Philosophy, where he studied English. He died on December 16, 2000, at the Cantonal Hospital in Aarau, Switzerland.
