117-year-old confesss the secret to longevity: I had no husband who made me nervous

The secret to a healthy life was, as she herself said, life without concern from men.

She lived 117 years, survived two world wars.

Emma Morano lived from 1899 to 2017, most of the time in Verbania, not far from Milan.

So if anyone knows how to stay able and really age, that's what it is.

What, though, is its secret?

Until recently, the oldest woman in the world has been the key to her long, healthy life.

In recent years Emma Morano had no suitable body to live, so she did not leave her apartment.

However, she was not alone with a steward of elders, and a granddaughter who had very good relations with her.

In order for her parents and seven brothers and sisters to survive the post-war crisis, she began working when she was 14 years old.

Her father was blinded during World War I and cannot care for the family.

As a young woman, she fell in love with a young man who went to war and never came back.

As demanded by society, Emma Morano had to get married, so another man was found.

He was violent.

After the death of her baby, she could not live with a violent man and abandoned him.

Official division in Catholic Conservative Italy in the 1930 ' s was not possible, but Emma Morano was still divorced by her husband.

And she lived alone and happily ever after.
