Partisan forces also had air support from the British air force that attacked German convoys outside the capital, while several hundred English parasavutists were thrown into areas between Lake Ohrid and Albanian coasted for co-ordinated attacks with partisans.
The next day, on October 18th, German radio in Berlin acknowledged that Nazi rear troops had been able to withdraw from Tirana barracks, avoiding siege.
