Albania's President Ilir Meta has indicated that November 28th found us in mourning, facing the dire consequences of the ruthless earthquake.
On the country's 107th anniversary of independence, Meta has called on Albanians to stay united and come to the aid of families affected by the earthquake.
The President went to Sauk where he met the homeless families.

Dear fellow countrymen, wherever you are!
On this day, which is most important to our country and nation, but which found us mourning and in battle with the terrible consequences of a ruthless earthquake, I invite you to engage in honoring our National Flag and to remain united until the restoration of the full normality of life for all Albanian families and their children.
Today I began this blessed day of our nation by visiting the homeless families in Sukth, where I met Amelia, who had been living in the tent and in difficult conditions for two days, today had chosen to wear the colors of the National Flag.
The more we do for these children today, the more they will honor our national flag and their country when they grow up.
