Export dropped for 15.6% during October in Kosovo

According to the AKS, data from Kosovo's Foreign Trade and Goods showed a higher trade deficit for 4.5% in October 2019, in proportion to the same period in 2018, worth 282.7m euros, compared to the 270.5m euros deficit in 2018. Export covers import by 10.3%.
”Export of goods in October 2019 was worth 32.3m euros, while import 315.1m euros, which is a drop of (15.6%) for export, while a 2.0% increase for import compared to the same period in 2018. According to key export data: 31.2% of exports make up basic metals and articles; 15.9% make up plastics, tires and articles; 11.2% make up prepared foods, drinks and tobacco; 7.5% make up plant products; 6.1% make up machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment; 5.5% make up the various products produced; 4.6% make up the text and the articles from it, etc. While, according to key group data for import: 15.0% make up mineral products; 13.0% make up machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment; 11.0% make up basic metals and products; 10.4% make up prepared foods, drinks and tobacco; 9.0% make up transport; 7.1% make up chemical industry products; 6.3% make up plastics, tires and items from them, etc. Kosovo exports to EU countries (28) reached 13.2m euros, or about 41.1% of total exports, with an increase of 29.0%. The main partners for export of goods to the EU were: Italy (12.8%), Germany (9.6%), the Netherlands (5.4%), Great Britain (1.7%), etc. Kosovo imports from EU countries (28) stood at around 160.3m euros, or 50.9% of total imports, with an increase of 28.9%. Imports with higher turnout were from: Germany (13.0%), Italy (10.6%), Greece (3.7%), Bulgaria (3.6%), Slovenia (3.1%), etc.”, is said in the communique.
In October 2019, Kosovo's exports with CEFTA countries, according to the AKS, reached 14.3m euros, or 44.4% of total exports, with a drop of -10.4%. Key export partners from CEFTA countries were Albania 18.9%, Macedonia 12.0%, Serbia 7.5%, and Montenegro 4.2%.
“While, imports from CEFTA countries in the month of October 2019 reached 45.0m Euro, or 14.3% of total imports, with a drop of (-47.8%). The countries with the highest share in import was: Macedonia (6.9%), Albania (6.3%), and Serbia (0.1%). Meanwhile, Kosovo exports with other countries in the world reached 4.6m euros, or 14.5%. As more important partners from these export countries, it's worth mentioning: Switzerland (7.9%) and Turkey (3.1%). While, Kosovo's imports with other countries of the world reached 109.7m euros, or 34..8%. The countries with the highest share in import in this group were: Turkey (12.5%) and China (10.0%)”, the communique says.
