Colonel Bajrami: KSF continues operations in Albania at night

KSF Colonel Agron Bajrami has provided more details of what capacities have been launched KSF towards Albania.

“The KSF, based on official procedures, has prosecuted with all the necessary elements to prepare and carry out the necessary actions through which the KSF is deployed into operations abroad”.

We started with official procedures after placing contacts with structures in the Republic of Albania. Then, the necessary procedures related to the decision-making process, the analysis of the situation, and other issues have been carried out to begin moving our forces sometime around 09: 00:18x1>.

“Around 13:00, our forces have already landed in the operating area to start search-saving operations”.

We have a Urban Research Unit with K9 Special Units, but other support units that carry out the necessary actions based on standard operating procedures”.

But what kind of expertise does the KSF have for such situations?

“The KSF has capacity and capabilities for response in urban search-saving operations, mountains and water. In concrete cases, we've engaged Urban Rescue Research Units or search for ruins and our units are specialised in performing these operations in any situation”.

KSF Special Colonel Klan Kosovo has shown more details about the operations KSF has conducted and is conducting during the day in areas affected by the powerful earthquake that has hit Albania.

Our “Operations have started around 1300 in the Thumman area or the area of Fush Kruja. As far as operations are concerned in the Durres area, we've started around 40 minutes after 1400x1>.

The situation in the Thumman area has been quite difficult. Our forces are operating in co-operation with the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania. What I want to stress is that part of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania have been trained together with our own strength. In terms of interaction, there is a very important element when procedures are understood and two forces interact with the same operation”.

“As far as operations are concerned in the Durres area, I can appreciate that there is a high degree of damage done in the objects where our forces are operating”.

He has said that the KSF, as it has pledged, will continue to conduct the necessary operations even during the night.

Well, our commitment is to continue to perform operations at night. To that end, we've already started dislocating additional equipment that is needed for our forces to operate at night”.

“Refocus the pledge of KSF Commander and Defence Minister that our available capacities will be ready to support operations in the Republic of Albania”.
