A couple of older men have ended up in chains after being accused of burying their bride alive and then hiding her body so that their son could receive custody of the children.

The body of 41-year-old Marcia Martins Miranda was found at an abandoned residence in Rio Pequeno, in the town of São Paulo. The house where the body was found, according to local media, had been rented by her father-in-law Fernando Antonio Martins de Oliveira, 62, and Maria Isilda Pereira Miranda, 60 years old.

Miranda, who worked for social services, had been missing for over a month. Investigators believe the 41-year-old guest suspects at the rented house had been told they wanted to open a bank account for the children.

They persuaded the bride to go to their home, and one moment she arrived, she was struck behind her head and buried while still alive. Investigators said the father - in - law had amended the crime and had dug a deep pit, which they later closed with concrete.

They decided to kill 41-year-old after she told them she'd break up with her husband and pick up the kids, a 4-year-old son and a 9-month-old girl. According to what the daily Mirror writes, those arrested have denied the charges. Investigations into a serious event follow.
