The investigation began after the editor of the renowned British media “The Guardian”, Jim Waterson, and a friend of his tried to use these banknotes to pay breakfast in a London cafe last week, writes the “The Guardian”.
The waiter refused to accept the banknotes, in which he writes “Tynty Poond” in the back, saying they were “cline false”,contact Time.net. Waterson's friend received these banknotes among the 80 pounds she pulled from the ATM to the Lancester branch of “Yorkshire Building Society” last weekend.
Most of the 20-field forged banknotes were sold on the black market for about eight pounds for a banknote and could easily end up in the pocket of undisputed buyers.
