More than 80 percent of the city protected by U NESTO, it was underwater when the tide reached the peak.
Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Ctete described the floods as a blow to the heart of the country, and announced the rapid disbursement of funds to facilitate the situation.
He said the government would speed up construction of defence facilities in the city-glamu, referring primarily to the so-called “Mois” project, a plumbing barrier system that would protect Venetians in the case of rising sea level.
The project is accompanied by controversy and scandals, but we are in its final phase. We have no choice but to finish it in the quickest and efficient way”, the prime minister said.
With the state of emergency declared, affected persons can provide up to 5,000 euros in damages, while businesses will provide up to 20,000 euros.
