Officials announced to local media that the lifeless bodies of 12 people, including seven children, were found on Saturday.
The mud slides that took place in Nyarculian and Parua villages were caused by heavy rainfall.
Authorities announced that these villages have been blocked by floods and roads covered by water and reported that at least one bridge has been destroyed.
This region's commissioner, Apollo Okello, said some people may have been trapped in ruins and that efforts to locate them are being made by poor weather conditions.
Forests, mud, and debris of buildings scattered on the street are seen on social networks.
