About 190 missing persons in Kosovo for 10 months

During these months of 2019, police have reported on a large number of citizens who have disappeared from different regions of Kosovo. Some have left for only temporarily, but there have been times when missing persons were found without life. The last two cases are from Vushtrri [...]

The last two cases are from Vushtrri and Lipjan.

Musli Krasniqi from Vushtrria, who resulted in missing from November 28th, has been found dead in a well near Begaj village on November 4th. His lifeless body was found by the Kosovo Security Forces.

The next case is young Lipyan, Albanian Ali. His disappearance was reported to the police on October 14th, while his lifeless body was found on October 21st. His body was found in a pit in the village of Gadime e Low in Lipjan.

The whole situation is being seen as disturbing by psychotherapist Yll Avdij, who has spoken of some of the reasons that may lead citizens to leave their homes.

“There is no doubt that this phenomenon is being heard quite often, where citizens will disappear, and this certainly is a concern for the opinion, especially for the family members. Usually, the reasons may be as numerous as individuals themselves, why a person could come to the extinction of”, he said.

Avdij mentioned some of the important factors that may affect such cases.

“Psychological factor: cases where people are suffering from some psychological disorder, or other brain-related disfunctionals, amnesia disorders involving memory loss, experience some crisis or psychological pressures, major depression etc. ”, he indicated.

Avdij also discussed other factors.

Emotional factor: cases of emotional and mood disorders, traumas, etc.” Social factor: family problems, marital problems, threats, kidnappings, various pressures that can come from the social circle, such as harassment, kindness, neglect, feeling and not being accepted in the social circle, the loss of a loved one, and etc. and”, Avdij explained.

Avdij said that in such cases the situation, in which it mentioned economic conditions, the failure to cope with financial conditions, the many debts, the inability to meet personal and family needs and requirements, and failure at work and in learning.

The psychotherapist, Avdij, said that other factors may also influence such cases.

There may be many other factors, perhaps even more specific in more concrete cases, but as general factors, we usually face those above. And these factors often know to be causes that can lead to suicide”, he added.

By contrast, some 190 missing persons have been reported by Kosovo Police.

In most recent cases missing persons have been found, since they have often been temporary retirement from home, or leave without permission (without family knowledge) for various causes. Among these people there have been persons who have had health problems”, Kosovo Police say.

Otherwise, in addition to the Kosovo Police, citizens also contribute to finding missing persons, distributing photos on various social networks.

Noteworthy is the latest case of Remzije Mustafa, the woman from Pristina who had been missing since 6 October. Thanks to media co-operation, Kosovo Police and citizens, it has been found safely in an uninhabited house in Pristina.
