At least 19 is reportedly the number of victims, while another 100 have remained injured.
“Hagibis” has started on the eastern side of Japan, recently moving to the centre of the country.
Hagibis, which in the Filipino language means speeds, has advanced to the northwest with maximum winds up to 162 miles per hour.
Seven million people have been evacuated and 16 still missing after the storm at 140km/h speed that hit the country this Saturday.
Hagibis' speed is expected to run as much as 215 km/h. Electricity operator reports 376,000 homes have been left without electricity and 14.00 without water.
Meanwhile, seven million people have been told to evacuate to Japan, predicting that an even stronger typhoon could strike the country first.
In addition to the typhoon, Japan has been hit by a 5.7 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale.
As a result of constant rainfall on rain and earthquakes, many landslides are also reported throughout the country.
