Recounting of votes, civil society recommends prosecution involvement

The Central Election Commission (KQZ) will re-count another 530 seats, following recommendations by the Centre for Recounting and Results due to disagreement between the votes of political subjects and candidates for MPs.
According to the CEC chairman, commissioners of political subjects have tried to distort the electoral process, while civil society wants the prosecution to launch investigations to see if such actions are intentional.
At the Counting and Results Centre, a large number of forms have been unable to be processed due to the disagreement between the votes of political subjects and candidates.
Meanwhile, the number one CEC, Valdete Daka, acknowledges that even this time they have not been able to avoid such a problem.
This time again, we are not immune to the phenomenon of failing to comply with the candidates' votes with the subject votes. That's the biggest reason why we recount them, except for the fact that it doesn't make us overlook it, and the fact that we have the results forms, even though those boxes, even if they weren't the results of the subjects, had gone to the recount anyway because of the candidates' voting gap, which was thus encountered in those box”, Daka said.
Other reasons for which the QNR is demanding the recount of another 530 seats are inaccurate notes of political subjects, technical problems and cases where MPs have more votes than political subject.
Today's CEC decision to recount 530 deployments comes after the recounting of 314 other locations, in which similar problems were also faced.
Asked who should take responsibility for all these irregularities, the CEC chairman says commissioners and candidates have tried to distort the process, while pledging that all necessary improvements will be made.
These are the commissioners of political subjects, and with candidates who have tried to distort the outcome, but let's not forget that we're going to make all those improvements”, Daka said.
Organization Executive Director “Arise” Arton Demhasaj, told Kosova Prees that it is time for the CEC to think carefully about how it will act in the future with the recounting of votes. According to him, the responsibility lies with commissioners, and the prosecution should investigate whether such actions are deliberate.
And I think that this is the last time the CEC should think about how it will act in the future, even in the recount of votes, because we are seeing so many such problems. Now, or these are intentional on the part of the commissioners making it to move votes from another candidate's candidate, and therefore you have to forge the prosecution's version in this case, and then whether or not these are intentional, because this is also a criminal offense in the penal code, the moment you can forge the outcome that the counterfeiting results comes even if you hold votes from one candidate in the other<1>, Demhasyan said.
Demhasa says that if it proves that this has been intentional by the appointed commissioners, conform penal measures must be taken.
In almost every election process, a considerable number of polling positions have usually gone to a recount as a result of problems, whether in the midst of candidates' votes or votes of political subjects.
Eugen Cakoli from the Kosovo Democratic Institute says the recount process does not affect the ranking or number of votes that have taken over political subjects.
The recount process does not affect the ranking or number of votes that have taken over political subjects. We have already seen that the minimum vote movement during the count of about 300 boxes, which have been recounted until just before midnight yesterday, means that parties have not had cases of irregularities in the middle of their votes, but what has emerged as phenomena is war within the same type as it is known, meaning that equal political subject candidates have had complaints in terms of their votes in the compliance forms of”, Cacol said.
Recounting locations belong to municipalities: Decan, Gjakova, Glogoc, Gjilan, Dragash, Istog, Kacanik, Kline, Fushe Kosovo, Kamenica, South Mitrovica, Leposaviq, Lipjan, Novoberda, Obilic, Rahovec, Peja, Pristina, Prizren, Skanderaj, Shkrece, Streca, Ferreca, Feriz, Vita, Vushtrri, Zubin Postock, Malishev, Junica, Hanezani, Graz and Ranzhal.
Otherwise, at today's CEC meeting where the recount decision has been made, Valdete Daka has announced that the same will begin immediately today and has invited the prosecution and police to be present during the recount.
