Rahovec Wine Lab, Kosovo wine quality meter

The quality of Kosovo wines is being liked by consumers both at home and abroad. Their value and flavor are measured in Rahovec's wine lab. The laboratory has been accredited on the standard 17025 since 2014. “In the laboratory [...]
“In the lab comes samples, they're coded, and then the wine is tested. Based on the physical-chemical wine parameters, certificates are issued for export or import of wine”, says the lab manager, Peace Vuciterna.
In these areas it is hard to work by rahovetian farmers. One of them is Hilmi Dacha, who is involved in grape cultivation for four decades now.
And I'm happy with productivity. This year I have four acres of vineyards, and I am extremely satisfied with the amount and also with the quality”, Daka shows. This vinedresser does not hide his earnings.
We're very pleased. With these vineyards what we have and what we first have left, we hold families, we educate children, and we perform all obligations”, says Daka.
But he's got a problem. According to him, young people are not expressing keen interest in continuing tradition in the vinedresser.
The “ks have accounts of grape cultivation. But this young man doesn't want to leave, as we are in age. They're just looking where it's easier to win”, says aka.
This old vinedresser fears that there may be no vineyards on the land of Rahovec after a few years. For that to happen, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development is taking care of.
From 2010 The MBPHR has supported farmers and wine production companies with over 20m euros.
Farmers rely on planting new vineyards with 60% grants from the MBPZHR, and with 40% from the farmer. Farmers are also subsidised on annual grounds of 1,000 euros per hectares in the name of vineyards maintenance.
Ministry support also provides winemakers. Wine-making companies support 50% by 50% grants. The production companies also support 0.04 cents per litre of officially produced and produced wine.
