US State Department Special Envoy for the Balkans Matthew Palmer, stay in Skopje today.
North Macedonia Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov will host Palmer.
A media report by this country's Foreign Ministry says Palmer and Dimitrov are expected to discuss the overall development of bilateral relations between the Republic of Northern Macedonia and the United States, as well as US support for the Euro-Atlantic integration of Northern Macedonia.
This month, the European Union has failed to make a decision to open membership negotiations with Skopje and Tirana. Palmer, at an American Congress session last week, said it was “deeply disappointed” from this EU stance. According to him, the European Council's inaction discourages the readiness of Balkan leaders to implement reforms.
