Astronauts, Christina Koch and Jessica Meir, will venture into space to replace a power controller that collapsed over the weekend, the US Space Agency reported.
The first exit by two female astronomers is scheduled for Thursday or Friday.
The broken unit has no impact on crew safety, or continuous experiments, but does not allow a new ionium battery installed earlier this month to provide additional energy, wrote NASA in a post.
Although non-combat batteries are not yet fully functional, the general power supply of the station, made up of four sets of batteries and solar panels, remains sufficient for all operations.
NASA plans a conference to discover two new costume models for planned Monday missions. The costumes worn by space astronauts are 40 years old and are becoming increasingly difficult to fix.
