Many of them are children of parents who illegally passed certain boundaries to reach Western states. In freedom, it is their disappointed children who are turning their backs on their homeland for better future abroad.
Kosovars are the only ones facing visa regimes. Politicians daily change possible dates for freedom of movement. Disillusionment with politics is one of the main reasons young people attack embassies for a working visa, KTV reports.
The visa is a word that often dominates the conversation between friends and friends. They speak at school and on the streets. School gymnast “New jet” in Suhareka, Astrit Baraliu, is waiting for the father to arrange documents soon to get the sixth family to Italy.
He says he is unhappy with local public services, especially with health services. There are no courses of Italian in Suhareka, so Baraliu must go to Prizren to learn Italian to make it as easy as possible to adapt to Italy. Of course, if the Italian state's response to his family will be positive.
Despite the obstacles, tens of me young people annually apply to the European embassies for working visas.
According to the survey, “Public Pulse Analysis ʹ challenges and youth angles in Kosovo”, presented by the UNDP and USAID in Kosovo, 58 percent of respondents consider leaving Kosovo in the next three years. Citizens have identified the lack of prospect of employment, poverty and nepotism and corruption as the main challenges for the future of youth.
Similar disappointments include Gezim Gashi from Suhareka, who is working in Montenegro.
During holidays at home, he has realized that most young people talk about leaving Kosovo. He is also considering going to Western Europe, where most relatives live.
If Gashi did not manage to adjust the documents for Germany and Switzerland, he would put an eye on any diaspora Albanian.
In a random poll at Red Cross offices, half of 15 young people have told sociologist Antigona Kolgeci-Ukëmer that they want to migrate to European states.
She thinks youth are not finding themselves because of the lack of jobs and disrespect of workers' rights. Women's Association Director “Alternative for Extinction” says that most young Suharekas work at the mall. Women have fewer options. Data institute “Riinvest” indicates that eighty percent of women capable of work are not part of the country's economy.
She feels that the source of women's problems is related to their noncompliance. For radical change, institutional and social support is needed. But director Ben Apollony says power is nowhere to be seen in Kacanik. He feels that there must be public manifestation of discontent to promote fundamental changes.
Most young people in Kacanic spend their time in the mall along the banks of the river that divide the city in two. Erleida Mullaku is not involved in any cultural and sports activity outside of what the high school offers “Skenderbeu” There has been disappointment, but he has no intention of leaving Kosovo.
Nor does Erlida's friend Eris Koraqi, who does not care for any activity other than those schools.
But Astrit in Suhareka says that if he manages to go with his family to Italy, he will return to Kosovo only for vacation.
