He said it was brilliant if the new highway's stone-themel would bring better relations in the region, but added that the Western Balkans do not need a foreign president to resolve certain things.

He stressed that Western Balkan countries should work in good neighbourly relations, not to prove themselves to others, but that they should work on their own, and that the current situation, such as preventing free circulation or Pristina's taxes on Serbia and Bosnia, should be resolved for the sake of the countries themselves, not Brussels or Washington.
The presidency of BiH expressed hope that the current presidency will establish strong and good relations with Belgrade.
Commenting on the idea of a common economic space, Komsic said the idea was attractive, but it meant that many things had to be done and that it would be useful to create a “mini-Shengen” and that it would also activate the co-operation of security agencies.
Komsic stressed that he is a major supporter of NATO membership, as he thinks he will bring the region what the EU will not do with security.
