KFOR spokesman: Security in Kosovo has improved markedly

Sabetta, who took over the post of KFOR spokesman in August, was already the spokesman for NATO troops in Kosovo in 2005 and also worked in SFOR between 1996 and 1998.
Comparing the situation then and now, Sabetta for European Western Balkans says there has been a security improvement in Kosovo.
The “has significant security progress, which reflected also in the different structure of KFOR. In 2005 we had almost 50,000 KFOR troops, while nowadays we can successfully complete our mission with 3,500 troops from 28 different nations “, says Sabetta.
He adds that KFOR's presence is based on the current security situation and that the North Atlantic Council will decide on further changes to KFOR and its mission.
“KFOR remains a reliable force, capable of carrying out its mission and strongly committed to supporting all communities in Kosovo impartially, ensuring security for all its people, facilitating reconciliation among ethnicities”, KFOR spokesman added.
