The case became very large at the time and had numerous debates over discrimination, even in parliament.
Today 32 years old, Andrew Begaj has decided to sue school for 400 thousand euros. His lawyer says that this incident, in addition to traumatising him by making him feel disfellowshipped, led to other clashes between the boy and the school, which resulted in his expulsion.
The school no longer opened the doors to the boy and was denied access, nor was it ordered by the education directorate. The director always supported that the teachers had acted righteously by reproving the disciplinary action against the students and disfellowshipped him. But Begaj's lawyer says it is a violation of human constitutional rights.
Now he has won the first victory after appeals judges decided that the case must be passed from the administrative court to the civilian, and that the school must pay the court expenses, and the amount of these expenses will be determined according to the decision.
