Speaking at an event against smoking in Istanbul, Erdogan said he ordered his Minister of Commerce, who “Kurre”, not allow electronic cigarettes to exist in Turkey and added that tobacco companies become enriched by poisoning people.
We let them produce it. We didn't give this to them, and we won't do it,” said Erdogan, without specifying which company this is about.

According to the World Health Organization, about 27 percent of Turks over the age of 15 were tobacco users in 2016, out of 31 percent in 2010, where most smokers are males.
