The continued destruction of our natural resources by all those who abuse and exploit the country's resources for individual benefit, whether decision-makers or investors, prompted us to protest and promise that we will not stop”, the announcement said.
Partner organisations operating in all municipalities in the country and having organised this petition say the collected arguments testify that if we don't act immediately, Kosovo's rivers, as well as the population living in their vicinity, will be destroyed and degraded.
According to them, small hydropower plants are being built today in the areas of national parks, and protected areas, where it is strictly forbidden, without complete legal documentation and without consulting all parties of interest that destroy flora and wildlife, divert rivers, reduce and endanger the supply of the population with water, and many others.
The signing collection will last two weeks and will take place in the seven major municipalities in Kosovo, including surrounding municipalities.
Partner organisations that have organised this petition are the Kosovo Democratic Institute, E C Make Different, InPO Progress Initiative, REC Kosova, ERA Group, CDC, Environment Protection Organisation ENTI and Active.
