Cleaning the house with bleaching detergents can be threatened by a series of health problems, one study suggests.
Scientists found that gases from cleaning products reacted to chemicals released by air perfumers.
When both are exposed to light, whether by sunlight or by light bulbs, they can be mixed together to form toxic particles of air, known as aeroscular secondary aerosole (SOA).
These particles irritate the eyes, nose and throat and can cause headaches, vomiting, and lung damage.
Scientists have now warned that SOA can easily be built at high domestic levels and non-aircrafted buildings.
They advised people to clean their homes with open windows.
