Cakaya: We have not pledged that negotiations will open

Situate in Albania, incumbent Minister of Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj sees it as different in northern Macedonia. Therefore, according to him, there is no reason for Albania to go to early elections. In an interview for RTV Ora, Cakaj said Albania has not pledged, like Northern Macedonia, that [...]
In an interview for RTV Ora, Cakaj said Albania has not pledged -- like Northern Macedonia -- that negotiations will open, broadcast the Kosovo Clan.
According to the minister, the Albanian government has fulfilled all the tasks and conditions for opening negotiations.
Gent Cakaj: The question is that Northern Macedonia belongs to other political circumstances because the political challenges of Northern Macedonia have been other. They have made a popular referendum, and the main issue has been that if the citizens of Macedonia want to change the state name in exchange for the country's European and Atlantic agenda. So the responsibility there is completely different. The government's pledge there has also been that negotiations will be opened. In Albania except there has been no such political problem, there has been no firm pledge that negotiations will be opened. We have been very careful to say that we try to open negotiations, but we cannot guarantee their success because a large share of work does not depend on Albania's relationship with member states, but on the relationship of member states with the EU itself.
Question: So you and the Albanian government have no responsibility, because this thing can advance in years?
Gent Cakaj: But if it advances in years, Albania should remain without government as it does, since The EU is unwilling to continue the enlargement process in the Western Balkans. The government is entitled to adapt to new circumstances that emerge as a result of EU policy change. The Albanian government should have been responsible if it had not fulfilled its duties or if this decision had come due to the failure of our diplomatic campaign. Rather, we have also been able to change Germany's attitude for the better. The point is, to better clarify the matter with the container. The first, some of the main conditions for opening negotiations are not within the government's competence at all. For example, deepening the results of the carbing. This job belongs to independent institutions of justice. The report is not the government report, but is Albania's report, and of course the Albanian government has the greatest responsibility. As for government responsibilities, tasks have been fulfilled. The Albanian government is powerless, nor does it objectively have this opportunity to change France's policy in relation to enlargement.
