Not yet known whether the 2020 budget will be approved

The Finance Ministry has carried out all budgetary divisions, but it has done so for 21 ministries. Now, with warnings from the winning election parties -- the VV and LDK -- that the new government will have no more than 12 dictatorships, the budget would still have to be revised.

The incumbent government is discussing the possibilities of holding a meeting to approve the draft budget for 2020 and several other decisions. RTK finds out that he has not yet decided for the day when this will happen. But the last day the budget should be approved in Government is October 31st of each calendar year.

The finance minister shows budgetary divisions for next year are ready. Lulzim Rafuna, adviser to the Finance Ministry, said top priorities have been set for rule of law, for education and health. Another dilemma has remained the issue that the budget for next year has become ready for 21 ministries. While the election winners of the Vetevendosje Movement and the Democratic League say they have agreed that the new government will have no more than 12 ministries. This means that the budget needs to be changed and conditioned for the next Government.

Lulzim Rafuna, adviser to the Finance Ministry “there is not much work to change the budget, because the budget will change for ministries, as municipalities have approved municipal budgets”, he said.

Vetevendosje Deputy Chairman Besnik Bislimi in an answer to RTK says no budget draft from this government can be adopted as long as it should pass through regular parliamentary procedures.
