The Vetevendosje movement has come out in support of health workers, as it considers that the latter were deceived by the Government for salary increases, when, according to Vetevendosje, it is known that it cannot implement the law.
Vetevendosje Movement Deputy Chairman Fatmire Kolcak said at a media conference that it was the unilateral decision to raise government salaries, which sparked surgeons' strikes, the education and mining strike.
According to her, it is possible for Finance Minister Bedri Hamza to come out and show where he will get the means to cover the salaries.
And we here before Kosovo citizens with full responsibility say that the wage bill is impossible, if approved in the Assembly this year, to be implemented within this year, because there is no budget prior to this law. I invite on behalf of the Government the Minister of Finance to appear at the session that day and to the general public that will follow the session, to declare where he will get the means to implement the pay law because these means are not envisioned in the salary bill. This is the fraud that so disagrees in our state”, she said.
Calling the situation in which health is inconsistent, Kolcak said the Government should meet to negotiate with doctors.
According to her, the surgeons' strike today has joined other doctors, including Ortopedine, pre-climate and Ferizaj Hospital, Kosova Preris suggests.
This strike is escalating and our obligation as MPs to the Republic of Kosovo Parliament is to worry about our citizens. The effects of this strike suffer to the sick, to patients who turn to the University Clinic, and there are already over a thousand operations cancelled, professional ambulances don't work, and as you know, only emergency cases are being addressed. We with full responsibility say that it is not to blame for what is happening to doctors. It is precisely the fault of this government, which immediately after the mandate was made, the first significant decision was the unilateral increase in wages for itself”, she said.
Kolcak said such a large gap in government high wages with doctors and other employees is full responsibility.
