Three years after an indictment against 40 cardiologists, known as the “case Stanta 2”, the process risks turning to zero.
Although this Thursday was envisioned for some of the accused to present the opening word, the court has almost been unable to proceed with this session, KTV reports.
The decision to change the body caused controversy between the chairman of the court and attorney Arian Koci.
The length of the session continued to stumble when the accused Perihane Sefa appeared late, which desperately demanded her release from the hearing because of her state of health.
And after the insistence and threats of the accused's lawyer that the court would be responsible if Sefa's health situation deteriorates, the head of the court was forced to call an ambulance.
But from here, Perehane Sefa was taken to the city emergency for further inspections.
And, the half-hour pause, one of the lawyers took advantage of the court's dismissal, so that hearings in this case can be interrupted indefinitely.
Indictees in “case Stanta 2” is charged by the Special Prosecutor with the criminal acts of “the misuse of official position or authority” and “bribery”.
In June 2016, the indictment was filed against former Prime Minister Ferid Agan, former MSH Secretary Gani Shabani, and 62 others.
The procedure against Agan and Shaban is isolated and is toward completion, reports Koha.net./Periscopi
