Tottenham Hotspur's defender, Serge Auurier, has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting his wife hours before the match his team lost to Manchester United.

The 26-year-old was arrested the day before Sunday's match, allegedly beating his wife after a disagreement they had, media in England reported.

Those charges have been denied by the French defender, and Hertfordshire Police have released him without anyone in regular procedure.
