Kosovo's former chief negotiator for talks with Serbia, Edita Tahiri, has responded through “Ora Nesa”, Edi Rama's statements against it regarding President Ilir Meta's decision not to decree Gent Cakaj in the post of foreign minister.
During an interview for “Ora News”, Edita Tahiri has stressed that Rama was unable to object during the visit to Belgrade during the change of borders between Kosovo and Serbia.
Edita Tahiri: I think President Meta made a national and visionary decision because he did not decree a candidate who had opened up for change of borders, which was to be opened up for national interests. With that decision, President Meta once again reaffirmed as it has been declared to be in defence of the state of Kosovo and our 100-year-old struggle to reach independence.
Prime Minister Rama is rich enough with his vocabulary to make reactions, and Syde is how he finds time for this, rather than sit down and think strategically about the Albanian nation, of the geopolitical war that is taking place today in the Brussels dialogue. Edi Rama himself when he was in Serbia in 2016, was unable to say no to change the borders of Serbian counterpart, and Mr. Thaci, importing Serbian-Russian ideas. These are not only at the expense of Kosovo, but at the expense of the Albanian nation. Today is the time that Mr. Rama sits down and thinks why he nominated this candidate and why Ditmir Bushati, who defended Kosovo's borders, dismissed him. More than individuals, it's a national issue.
Leaders have responsibilities. I'm one of the founders of this state. We fought in 100 years. Rama hasn't been to Albania at all for 10 years when we fought against the enemy. We've experienced all that genocide and yet we are where we are because Albanians make Albania and the lands are ours. Thus, the exchange of territories cannot happen because both northern Kosovo and Presevo Valley are ours. Let's not talk about our story being through Nis. I don't know how much I know Mr. Rama these are probably busy with these exchanges. /Periscopi
