Kosovo Parents' Council Chairman Ymret Resiti has told Periscopi that the SBASK has no interest in meeting with the KKP and not respecting them.

He added that they disagree with some parents who do not support the strike.

“The KKP accepts a different opinion because it respects domestic democracy, unlike the SBASK, which has no democracy inside, but pressure and blackmail against members. But the KKP does not agree with those representatives of parents' advice, who do not protect students' interest in learning but become the tail of the SBASK, who is instrumental in politics and has discussed education in Kosovo. By supporting people who have closed schools for two weeks for the interest of their pockets, this really doesn't want a comment. Misery”, Resiti said of Periscopi.

Resiti has said that the KKP has the support of almost all parental councils of Kosovo municipalities.

Among other things, he has said that lack of learning is diminishing the students ' will for learning.

The “concern is great because the student damage is huge. The long time of missing learning has dimmed the students ' will for instruction. This will make it difficult to replace lost hours, then the pressure to teach teaching classes for a certain time is the burden that will reflect on student performance when assessed by grades by teachers”, Resiti said.

And Shaban Morina, the parent representative at the school “the witnesses of Hasi” in Kabash, Prizren, has told Periscopi that they support the strike, but at the same time want more responsibility from teachers.

“We strongly hope that, along with the rights of educational workers, more responsibility is required from them, having their well-known salaries, and the quality in education for us, our children and the entire society”, Morina has said.

However, he has said it is disturbing for them now that the strike in education has entered the third week.

It's disturbing anyway, because the third week is too much for learning. Even if education workers compensated for lost hours, this would happen every Saturday, and that would load students. If it continues through July with lessons, it would also be unacceptable because it's getting a big heat of”, Morina said.

He has encouraged parents to organize activities at home for their children during the time when they will not be teaching.

The SBASK, meanwhile, has confirmed that the strike will continue in the coming days, because they have not yet reached an agreement with the government, on raising the wage cofficiency for 30 per cent.

They have demanded that the government lower the cofficiency of other sectors if there is no budgetary opportunity to increase the wage cofficiency for education workers.

“To add employees to the entire education sector so that they can have merit seats in the wage Law, lower the value of cofficients for all from the president to the technical-help workers in order to create conditions for all to have merity place in the wage bill, or if none of these two options are possible, then let the wage bill be withdrawn and the unions and institutions with cold heads and work on a draft accepted by all. There is a solution, but it only needs the will of institutions. Until then, the strike will continue and this union action is legitimate and guaranteed even with the law of strikes and the Constitution of Kosovo”, the SBASK report said.

During today's Lisman Jasharaj from SBASK and the strike council will stay in Gjilan, where four schools of this municipality will visit. /Periscopi/
