Environment and Spatial Planning Minister Fatmir Matoshi has today met with the leader of the Letés Do It World network, Heidi Sollba and Board member Anneli Ohvril.

During this meeting, Minister Matosi indicated that in 2019, Kosovo will lead and co-ordinate the global cleansing campaign, where it will deliver an international message on conservation and protection of the environment from waste.

This will be the best example because on September 21st, when the World Cleanup Day will be organised, we will send messages from this country. This is a good opportunity to promote Kosovo in the international arena. But by September 21st we have a lot of work to do”, Minister Matoshi said.

The first of the MMPH said that during this year, Kosovo will end the issue of waste through investment and law enforcement.

We have a memorandum with the German government and the GIZ for sharing of 7m euros for waste collection in municipalities. At the same time, we will continue with the implementation of administrative directives for constitutional fines”, Matosi said.

While the head of the “Letts Do It”, Heidi Sollba, has praised Kosovo's institutions for working with the “project to clear Kosovo”.

Attending this meeting was the chairman of the organisation “Let's Do Kosova”, Luan Hasanaj, who successfully praised the environmental cleanup campaign.

The Letés Do It World headquarters in Tallinn, Estonia, as a member accredited in the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), in December 2018, by 158 states has selected Kosovo as the winner of the prize for land laundering campaign. /Periscopi
