Five Kosovars accused of terrorist attacks in Kosovo, Syria, but Court acquitted them of these acts

The five accused Ardian Mehmheti, Nuredin Sylejmani, Genc Selimi and Valon Shala have been acquitted of criminal acts of terrorism, until they have been sentenced to over 23 years in prison, as well as fines, for weapons-related criminal acts, reports “Justice Vowtim”.
They were accused of planning terrorist attacks in Kosovo and Macedonia, as well as other criminal acts.
Ardian Mehmeti has been sentenced to seven years in prison, 280 euros in fine after being convicted of criminal activity “possession, control, or unauthorized possession of weapons”, as well as for criminal work “port, export, transport, transport, production, exchange, mediation or unauthorised weapons or explosive matter”.
To him, charges of organisation or participation in terrorist groups have been rejected, and criminal work of ownership, control, or unauthorized possession of weapons, since the special prosecutor, Africa Shefkiu, has been dropped from the prosecution.
He has also been acquitted of committing the terrorist work, since it has not been proved that he has committed such a crime.
The accused Nuredin Sylejmani has been sentenced to six years in prison and 1800 euros in fines for illegal weapons and for assaulting American citizens.
Sylejmani has been acquitted of facilitating the acts of terror, since according to the court it has not been proven to have been committed.
However, Valon Shala has been sentenced to five years in prison and 1800 euros in fines for arms without permission, while Genc Selimi has been sentenced in four years and six months in prison and 3600 euros in fine, “inciting hatred, division or national, racial, religious or ethnic patience”.
While, Musli Hyseni, has been sentenced to a year in prison and 600 euros in fines for the criminal work “ownership, unauthorized control or possession of weapons” and “due to criminal acts and perpetrators”
He has been acquitted of failing to announce criminal acts, as he has not been proven to have committed such a criminal offence.
In the conviction pronounced Tuesday by the Constitutional Court in Pristina, if the accused fail to pay fine sentences, they will be turned into prison, 20 euros per day in prison.
The accused will be counted the time spent under security measures, so that indictees Ardian Mehmeti will be accounted for in house arrest and detention from November 5th 2015 until now.
The same goes on to the detention measure, while indictees Valon Shala and Nuredin Sylejmani are assigned the detention measure, which will last until the full might of this act.
The accused are obliged to pay procedural expenses, for each apart from 100 euros, and 50 for compensation of crime victims.
As for those damaged Elizabeth Robertson and Kerry Joe Watch, they are guided in civil conflicts.
Under the court's decision, seven weapons of different types and calibres have been confiscated, as well as 2.389 ammunition including bullets and bullets.
Otherwise, the accused had repeatedly denied allegations that they had planned terrorist attacks in Kosovo and Macedonia.
At the session, held on December 5th of 2018, was preceded by the announcement of the indictment against the accused, but the Constitutional Court in Pristina had reopened the trial.

According to the judge, the prosecutor should identify the terrorist group, since, according to him, at the time this criminal act was allegedly committed, there has been a list of terrorist organisations.
The prosecutor, according to the judges, must identify and precise, the actions undertaken to, identify and unidentified, as well as identify the actions of accused Musli Hyseni, about how he was informed, in which meetings he attended, and which of the other defendants were aware, of the identity of the perpetrators of these criminal acts.
Otherwise, the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo had filed an indictment on January 23, 2015, against Ardian Mehmet, Nuredin Sylejmani, Genc Selimi, Valon Shala and Musli Hyseni, who are charged that during 2013, they are involved in various acts related to terrorism.
According to the prosecution, those criminal acts were committed in Kosovo and Syria.

In contrast, Musli Hyseni, is charged by the prosecution with illegal possession of the weapons, not warning of criminal acts, and failure to report criminal acts or perpetrators.
