The Chairman of the Year's Committee, Sokol Haliti, has asked teachers to resume learning tomorrow, January 21st. The appeal comes after Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj's decision to raise salaries in education.
After a positive reflection of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo for salary increases in the education sector, we ask our Community teachers to resume learning, with the best intention that our children do not miss class. We as municipal institutions are committed to joining you and all the acters so that the learning process will not be harmed, says Halit's request.
The SBASK announced that the strike in education will continue, even after the Haradinaj government's decision to raise teachers' salaries for 20m euros annually.
Meanwhile, the municipality led by the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Yunik, has decided to boycott the Union of Education, Science and Culture strike.
