“Vostok-2018” Russia's powerful warning to NATO with 300 thousand troops

In these exercises known as “Vostok-201818x1>, China will send about 3,200 members of it, with many vehicles and military aircraft. Also, some units will send Mongolia, writes Periscope.

Russia's recent military training of this level was held in 1981 during the Cold War, yet Vostok-2018 will include more troops. And all these exercises come at a time of tension between NATO and Russia.

Relations between Russia and the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) an organisation consisting of 29 members, dominated by the US, have deteriorated since Russia annexed Crime from Ukraine in 2014.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the drills have reasoned with <x0-magressive and unfriendly positions” in front of Russia.

What will happen during training?

During Tuesday and Wednesday, plans and preparations will take place, as operations begin on Thursday and last five days, Russian Army Staff Chief General Valery Geramisov has said.

The Russian Defence Ministry has said that around 360,000 tanks, armed personnel and ground-arms will take part in Vostok-2018 since 11 September to 17 September, along with more than 1,000 combat aircraft.

Training will extend to five major centres, four air bases and areas of Japan's Sea. About 80 battleships will take part, by two Russian fleets.

The exercises will not be held near the contested island Kuril in northern Japan, Russian authorities have said. /Periscopi/
