Ankara's chief prosecutor has ordered the detention of 110 air force soldiers, following allegations of ties to the cleric living in the United States, Fethullah Gulen, whom Turkey accuses of orchestrating failed coup attempts in 2016.
Three colonels, two lieutenant colonels, six majors and three captains are among the people whose search operation has begun in 15 provinces.
Turkish authorities have often carried out such raids against Gulen's alleged supporters, following failed attempts at puto, as a result of which 250 people have died.
The religious clergyman on the other hand denies involvement in the process.
Turkey's Western allies have criticised government steps, which were taken mainly at the time when Turkey was in a state of emergency, declared only soon after the failed stamp.
Erdogan's critics accuse him of using failed coup attempts as an excuse to suppress opponents.
However, according to Turkish authorities, these measures are necessary to combat threats to national security.
